I make art.
I make art
to pass from a feeling to a surface,
a first place,
to invite others to enter,
to open again the space
to set it into play,
to do something to fill in the time,
art is “daily activities to make life presentable” (1)
art is “a way to survive her fears” (2)
to begin to speak,
because bodies are missing
or limits,
art is “an instrument and has never been anything other than that, I don’t believe in the autonomy of art.” (4)
to live without habit,
to give a form
to the flow of the world,
to imagine other ways of being, of standing, other bodies,
for political reasons,
art is “the way, by drawing lines, by placing words or by distributing surfaces, to draw a shared and common space. (…) We’ve just not defined forms of art but rather some forms of living in the tangible world. “(5)
to pay attention to gestures and situations they generate,
to propose,
art is “what makes life more interesting than art” (3)
for intensity,
by curiosity,
for us to meet,
to laugh because laughter seriously stretches space.
