La Table partagée est longue de quatre mètres, peinte en rouge, posée entre l’intérieur et l’extérieur de la maison. Enjambant une fenêtre, elle vient créer un seuil, un nouveau lieu d’ouverture et de partage.
C’est d’abord une surface horizontale. Si elle rassemble, elle est aussi un espace entre les personnes. Une table possède en effet cette propriété de réunir en séparant. Elle déroule sa surface vide à la fois comme une attente et une invitation.
Cette sculpture est un meuble et sa quotidienneté me plaît. Le fait qu’on puisse en faire usage aussi. J’aime en général travailler à l’échelle du mobilier ou de l’objet c’est-à-dire à l’échelle du corps, à portée de main, dans une attention aux gestes et aux situations qu’ils engendrent. Se saisir de ces objets dans une démarche artistique, c’est, par un glissement, porter un regard sur un construit social et culturel et par là sur un certain rapport au monde.
Cette table vient prendre sa place là où on ne l’attend pas : à la fois dedans et dehors, dans un entre-deux. À la fois partagée et faisant le lien entre deux espaces, elle les désigne, les souligne, les fait exister. Comme un pont fait exister les deux rives qu’il relie. Il y a un espace public et un espace privé et une étrange intimité entre les deux.
Cette sculpture a été mise en situation lors d’une courte performance au cours de laquelle onze personnes, rassemblées autour de la table, à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur, ont partagé un repas pour ensuite repartir chacune de leur côté.
Cette table fonctionne donc aussi comme prétexte à une situation, à un jeu.

This table is four meters long, red, placed between the inside and outside of the house. Passing through the window, it creates a threshold, a new place of openness and sharing.
First it is a horizontal surface. If it brings together, it is also a space which separates people. Indeed a table has this property to gather and separate at the same time. This empty surface is both an expectation and an invitation.
This sculpture is a piece of furniture and I like this everyday object. The fact that we can make use of it too. Usually I enjoy to work at this scale (of furniture or object) because it is the body scale. I like to underline some gestures and the situations they generate. Using these objects in an artistic process is a way to ask about social and cultural constructs, to ask about a certain relation to the world.
This table is both in and out, in-between. Both shared between and linking two spaces, it makes them exist. It is like a bridge that connects two banks. There is a public space and a private space and a strange intimacy between them.
This sculpture was acted during a short performance. Eleven people, gathered around the table, inside and outside, shared a meal.
Therefore this table also functions as a pretext to a situation, to play.
